Why You need to Tie Your Camel

Why You need to Tie Your Camel

Why You need to Tie Your Camel

For dis life, e get two kain extreme levels of tawakkul. One na to believe for Allah so tey you go just siddan dey look, dey reason say Allah go do everything for you even when you no lift finger to help your sef. Di oda one na to believe say na only your own power go make things happen, you come forget to put trust for Allah. Two of dem no good at all.
Make we check dis two matter well, and see wetin be di correct way.

If You No Tie Your Camel

Dis kain thinking e no good at all. Na like say na Allah be our servant, instead make we be servant of Allah (Audhubillahi min dhaalik). If person dey think like dis, e fit make im iman weak, because one day e go realise say if e no do anything, nothing go change. Some people sef go dey question Allah power when things no go di way dem want. Dem go dey tok say, “Why Allah no go just make my life easy?” But di real question be say, why Allah go help us if we no wan even help our sef? Allah don tok for Qur’an:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ

“...Truly, Allah no go change di condition of one people until dem change wetin dey inside dema sef...”

And again:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ

“O you wey believe, make una take patience and salah find help. Truly, Allah dey with di people wey sabi endure.”

One man bin ask di Prophet (ﷺ):

"O Messenger of Allah, make I tie my camel and trust Allah, or make I no tie am and trust Allah?"

Di Prophet (ﷺ) come reply am say:

"Tie am, then trust Allah."
[SunanTirmidhi]

So, di first thing wey you suppose do na to tie your camel.

If You Tie Your Camel Too Much Sote E No Fit Breathe

Dis one still bad like di first one, but many of us no dey even realise say we dey do am. We go dey try fix our wahala with all our power, but we go forget say no be we dey control di result. Na Allah dey control everything for di whole universe.

لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

To Allah belong di kingdom of di heavens and di earth and everything wey dey inside. And na Him get power pass for everything.”

No matter how we go hustle, if Allah no gree make di thing work, e no go work. Na why di Prophet (ﷺ) tell us say make we tie our camel, then trust Allah for di result. Because even if di result no be wetin we want, e fit be say na beta thing for us.

...E fit be say you no like something, but e good for you; and e fit be say you like something, but e bad for you. And na Allah sabi, you no sabi.”

And if we manage succeed, we no suppose dey boast say, “Na my power and my hard work make me succeed.” Instead, we go suppose say Alhamdulillah, because if to say Allah no help us, many things for don go wrong.

Di Correct Attitude

Di correct way na to be like bird dem. Di Prophet (ﷺ) tok say:

"If una trust Allah di way wey e suppose be, e go provide for una just like how e dey provide for birds. Dem go comot early morning when dem hungry, and dem go return for evening when dem belle full." [Sunan At-Tirmidhi]

Make you see wetin dey important here: Di birds dey comot go find food. Dem no go just siddan for nest dey sing, “Allah go give us food!” No! Dem go out, dem fly, dem search for food. And na so Allah dey provide for dem and even for di pikin wey dem leave for house.

If we fit get dis kain trust, Allah go take care of all our matter. If we fit waka for His way, put effort, then trust am with di result, e go make us fly when we jump!
