Al-Aqeedah Al-Waasitiyyah, by Imam Ahmad ibn AbdulHaleem Taqeeud-Deen ibn Taymiyyah
Introduction
The text wey dey for dis book, Al-Aqeedah Al-Waasitiyyah and na short summary of di Athari Aqeedah wey Imam Ahmad ibn AbdulHaleem Taqeeud-Deen ibn Taymiyyah write.
Ibn Taymiyyah tok why e write dis book:
هَذِهِ كَانَ سَبَبُ كِتَابَتِهَا أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ أَرْضِ وَاسِطٍ بَعْضُ قُضَاةِ نَوَاحِيهَا شَيْخٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ رَضِيُّ الدِّينِ الواسطي مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّافِعِيِّ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا حَاجًّا وَكَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْخَيْرِ وَالدِّينِ وَشَكَا مَا النَّاسُ فِيهِ بِتِلْكَ الْبِلَادِ وَفِي دَوْلَةِ التتر مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الْجَهْلِ وَالظُّلْمِ وَدُرُوسِ الدِّينِ وَالْعِلْمِ وَسَأَلَنِي أَنْ أَكْتُبَ لَهُ عَقِيدَةً تَكُونُ عُمْدَةً لَهُ وَلِأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ...
Di reason wey I write dis book be say, one man from Wasit wey be qaadi (judge) for di area come meet me. Em name na Radeeud-Deen Al-Waasiti, and e be one of di Shaafi'i scholars. E come meet us for Hajj, and e be person wey sabi di religion well-well. E come complain give me say, for im area, under di Tartar government, ignorance and oppression too much. Di people don forget religion and knowledge.
Di man beg me make I write one aqeedah (creed) wey him and im family fit hold onto. But I tell am say: "Pipo don already write plenty aqeedah before. You fit just carry any of di aqeedah wey di imams of Sunnah don write."
But di man no gree leave me. E say: "I no wan aqeedah from another person. Na you I want make you write am."
So, na so I take write dis aqeedah for am as I siddan for afternoon time. Since dat time, many copy don spread go Egypt, Iraq, and oda places.

Di Main Text of Al-Aqeedah Al-Waasitiyyah
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
For di name of Allah, di Most Gracious, di Most Merciful.
الحمد لله الَّذي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللهِ شَهِيدًا
All praise dey for Allah, wey send im messenger come with guidance and di true religion, make e show say na Islam be di correct one pass all oda religions. And Allah sef be di best witness.
وأَشْهَدُ أَن لاَّ إلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ إِقْرَارًا بِهِ وَتَوْحِيدًا
I bear witness say no god dey except Allah alone, e no get any partner. I accept am and I believe in Tawheed (oneness of Allah).
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تسليمًا مَزِيدًا
And I bear witness say Muḥammad na Allah servant and messenger. Make Allah send peace and blessing upon am, im family, and im companions plenty plenty.
Di Foundation of Imaan (Faith) and im Six Pillars
وَهُوَ الإِيمَانُ بِاللهِ وَمَلاَئِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْبَعْثِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ والإِيمَانِ بِالْقَدَرِ خِيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ
Faith (Imaan) na to believe in:
1. Allah,
2. Him Angels,
3. Him Books,
4. Him Messengers,
5. Di Resurrection after death,
6. Di good and bad wey come from Allah decree (Qadr).
Faith in Allah Names and Attributes
وَمِنَ الإيمَانِ بِاللهِ الإِيمَانُ بِمَا وَصَفَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ الْعَزِيزِ وَبِمَا وَصَفَهُ بِهِ رَسُولُهُ مُحَمَّدٌ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ غَيْرِ تَحْرِيفٍ وَلاَ تَعْطِيلٍ وَمِنْ غَيْرِ تَكْيِيفٍ وَلاَ تَمْثِيلٍ
Faith for Allah mean say we go believe di way wey Allah take describe Himself for Him Book and di way Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) describe am. We no go change di meaning, we no go deny am, we no go ask ‘how?’, and we no go compare am to anything.
بَلْ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِأَنَّ اللهَ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ البَصِيرُ
We believe say nothing dey like Allah at all, and e be di All-Hearing, di All-Seeing. (Surah Ash-Shura, 42:11).
Belief in Allah's Names and Attributes (Tawḥeed al-Asmaa waṣ-Ṣifaat)
فَلاَ يُنْفُونَ عَنْهُ مَا وَصَفَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ وَلاَ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ وَلاَ يَلْحَدُونَ فِي أَسْمَاءِ اللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَلاَ يُكَيِّفُونَ وَلاَ يَمْثِلُونَ صِفَاتِهِ بِصِفَاتِ خَلْقِهِ، لأَنَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ لاَ سَمِيَّ لَهُ وَلاَ كُفْوَ لَهُ وَلاَ نِدَّ لَهُ وَلاَ يُقَاسُ بِخَلْقِهِ
We no go remove di things wey Allah don tok about Himself. We no go change di meaning of Him words. We no go use bad belief for Him names and signs. We no go ask ‘how?’, and we no go compare Allah with Him creation.
Allah no get any equal, e no get rival, and nobody fit be like am. And E no dey measure with Him creation for anything.
“E no get any person wey be Him mate.” (Surah Maryam 19:65)
“E no get any partner or equal.” (Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:4)
Allah Dey Above di Throne (Al-Arsh) and E Near Us Too
وَإِنَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ فَوْقَ عَرْشِهِ مَجِيدٌ بَائِنٌ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ، وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ أَيْنَمَا كَانُوا، وَهُوَ سُبْحَانَهُ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ الْعَالَمِينَ
Allah dey above Him Throne, separate from Him creation. But e still dey everywhere with us, know wetin we dey do. E no need di whole universe.
“Di Rahmaan (Most Merciful wey be Allah) don establish Himself on top di Throne.” (Surah Taa-Haa 20:5)
“E dey with you anywhere wey you dey.” (Surah Al-Hadeed 57:4)
We Must Accept Wetin Allah Talk Without Asking 'How?'
وَلَا يَكُونُ فِي النَّاسِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ ذَاتِهِ وَلَا يَكُونُ فِي ذَاتِهِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مُحِيطًا بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَقَدْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا
Allah no dey inside Him creation, and creation no dey inside am. But e know everything and e control everything.
“Truly, Allah dey cover everything with Him knowledge.” (Surah Taa-Haa 20:98)
Allah Go Show Himself on di Last Day
وَأَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ يَرَوْنَهُ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ كَمَا يَرَوْنَ الْقَمَرَ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ، لَا يُضَامُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ
Di people wey enter Jannah go see Allah with their eyes, just like dem dey see full moon without any wahala.
“For that day, some faces go shine, dem go dey look their Lord.” (Surah Al-Qiyaamah 75:22-23)
Allah Get Hand, Face, and Other Attributes, But We No Fit Compare Am
وَيَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ يُنْفِقُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ، وَلَكِنْ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَشْبِيهٍ وَلاَ تَكْيِيفٍ
Allah hand dey open, e dey give how e like. But e no be like hand of human being, and we no fit ask how e be.
“Allah hand dey open, e dey spend as e like.” (Surah Al-Maaʾidah 5:64)
Allah Tok for Qur’an Say E Get Hand, But E No Be Like Human
وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ يُنْفِقُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ. وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ
Allah don tok for Qur’an say e get hand, but e hand no be like our own.
"Instead, Allah hand dey open, e dey give as e like." (Surah Al-Maa'idah 5:64)
"Wetin make you no wan do sujud (prostrate) to di one wey I create with my two hands?" (Surah Saad 38:75)
Allah Dey Hear and See Everything
وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: وَكَانَ اللَّهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا
Allah get ear and eye, but e no be like human being. E hear everything, and e see everything.
“And Allah na di One wey dey hear and see everything.” (Surah An-Nisaa 4:58)
Di Kalaam (Speech) of Allah
وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: وَكَلَّمَ اللَّهُ مُوسَى تَكْلِيمًا
Allah dey tok, and e tok to Prophet Musa directly.
"And Allah tok to Musa with real tok directly." (Surah An-Nisaa 4:164)
Allah Get Face, But E No Be Like Human Face
وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
Everything go finish one day, na only Allah Face go remain.
"Na only di face of your Lord wey get majesty and honor go remain." (Surah Ar-Rahmaan 55:27)
Ahlus-Sunnah Believe Say Allah Go Show Himself on di Last Day
وَقَوْلُهُ: وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ * إِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
Di people wey go enter Jannah go see Allah with their eyes.
"That day, some face go shine well well, dem go dey look their Lord." (Surah Al-Qiyaamah 75:22-23)
Di Belief of Ahlus-Sunnah Regarding Allah Names and Attributes
وَأَهْلُ السُّنَّةِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ، وَلَا يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ، وَلَا يَلْحَدُونَ فِي أَسْمَاءِ اللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ
Ahlus-Sunnah believe everything wey Allah tok about Himself. Dem no dey change di meaning, and dem no dey twist Allah names and signs.
"Dem no dey turn Allah words upside down, and dem no dey play with Allah names and signs."
